Steelers vs. Browns

For years, watching the Steelers meant watching Bill Cowher and his band of assclown coaches fail to adjust to anything the other team did. Every week they would go in with a game plan and stick with it, no matter what was happening. Every. Week. It was infuriating. Remember Super Bowl XXX when Neil O'Donnell threw twelve interceptions to the same man? Yeah. Like that.

So when Omar Epps Tomlin came to town, I figured here's a guy who can think on the fly. Young. Hip. Wears sunglasses. He's black! Brothers are always cool. We're okay now. But then Sunday night came around, and it was like Dick LeBeau came over to him at halftimeand said, "Look, I know this isn't working, but it's cool. This happens all the time here. You have to get used to it. Just trust me. Don't change anything. Keep calling seven-step drops on third and eight when you know they're gonna blitz 6 guys. No, really. It's called "ugly football;" people in Pittsburgh eat this shit up."

I do not eat this shit up. I fucking hate it. Additionally, I hate how the Steelers seem to play terribly on the road against the division. I don't get it. By all accounts, Cleveland has one of the worst defenses in the league. They're fairly old, they can't cover anyone, and the Steelers could only score one touchdown. I don't care how windy or rainy it was, you must be able to play offense in lousy weather.

Defensively, they were exceptional. I don't think they tackled as cleanly or displayed the same speed as in week one, but these things can be compromised on soggy surfaces. But the team needs to get into the habit of pounding shitty teams into the ground when they get a chance. Close out the cupcakes with authority and make it clear to your better opponents that you are equipped with the tools to kick some serious ass. Last week the Steelers would have lost to all but maybe nine or ten teams. They're schedule is too hard to play that shitty. They need to be gearing up in games against the Cleveland Browns of the league so they can be ready to come out firing against teams like the Eagles, who will certainly score more than six points next week
